Frequently Asked Questions

You will be asked a variety of questions regarding the reason for your visit and several questions about your current and past medical health history. During your Initial Consultation, your Doctor of Chiropractic will review your Health History Questionnaire and discuss all area(s) of concern to develop a working diagnosis. We will provide our clinical opinion regarding your diagnosis during your Initial Visit and will answer any questions you may have regarding your problem areas.

Your first visit with us will range between 30-40 minutes. Please be prepared to spend one hour with us during your initial consultation, however, if your situation is straight forward we may be able to complete your session in a shorter time frame.

We recommend that you wear comfortable and flexible clothing to your first Chiropractic appointment. Also, please remember to bring your Alberta Health Card information, your insurance benefits card or plan information and your completed Health History forms if they were emailed to you in advance.

ADULT New Patient fees (18+) are $149.00 and future visits cost $69.00. We also offer special rates for Seniors (65+); Children (under 18) and active serving Military members.

We have OPTIONAL care packages available for your convenience which can make your care more convenient and affordable. We also offer direct billing for Motor Vehicle Accidents, RCMP members and Veterans Affairs Canada.

Please bring your benefit card or claim number with you to your first appointment. For your first visit, please be aware you may be required to pay out of pocket depending on your plan's specifics.

In most instances there will be no requirement for x-rays before proceeding with your first treatment. However, in some situations we may recommend that you have additional diagnostic testing conducted such as x-rays, bone scans, blood work, MRI, CT or bone density tests. These tests may be necessary to formulate a complete musculoskeletal diagnosis.

In most cases you will receive treatment during your first visit, however, if you have experienced recent trauma or if we recommend diagnostic imaging such as an x-ray to gather additional information, treatment may be delayed until we have received this information.

We will do our very best to provide you with specific, understandable information about the type of changes you should expect following each chiropractic session. It is very common for the type of pain you have been experiencing to change significantly, even after one treatment. These changes frequently include a shift in pain character from sharper pain to more dull and achy pain; movement of pain from one location to another and remaining levels pain becoming less constant and more intermittent in frequency.

We will provide you with the opportunity to ask us questions before, during and after your treatment so you feel comfortable with what to expect at all times while under our care. We will also provide you with helpful information such as recommended sleeping positions, activities to avoid, when to use ice or heat, recommended stretches, postural or ergonomic advice and ways to manage inflammation and pain.

Doctors of Chiropractic practicing in Canada have a minimum of 7 years of post secondary education; they must complete an undergraduate degree followed by 3-4 years of Chiropractic training.

As Regulated Health Care professionals, we are governed by the Alberta Chiropractic Association and College ( albertachiro.com ). Chiropractors in Alberta are permitted to diagnose Neuro-musculo-skeletal conditions (those relating to nerves, muscles, bones and joints). We are able to interpret a variety of diagnostic test results including x-rays, bone scans, Musculoskeletal Ultrasounds, CT scans and MRIs. Our team of seven chiropractors offer a very balanced approach to caring for our patients, combining chiropractic care and medical care when needed.

As Doctors of Chiropractic, we are permitted to refer our patients directly to medical specialists (orthopedic surgeons, rheumatologists, sports medicine physicians etc.). Just like General Medical Practitioners, we are each assigned a "Practitioner Identification Number” which allows us to refer our patients directly to medical specialists and for the specialists to receive payment for the patients we refer.

Our seven Chiropractors each possess our own special interests in caring for the various people in our practice including recreational and competitive athletes, pregnant women, infants and children. People of all ages can benefit from chiropractic care and we want to share our unique set of diagnostic and chiropractic skills with as many health conscious people as possible!

We look forward to having the opportunity to work with you and to show you the benefits of a safe and extremely effective form of health care which can help you discover new levels of personal well being!

Many parents choose chiropractic care for their children at our studio. We are a 'child friendly' studio and we want you to know your children are ALWAYS more than welcome to accompany you to your chiropractic appointments.

We want your experience at our studio to be both therapeutic and of course, relaxing. Our treatment rooms feature dimmed lighting, cozy fireplaces and music with volume control. We decorate our studio seasonally to help you feel "at home" while spending time visiting us.
